The Honor 400 Pro, launched in June 2025, is a premium mid-range smartphone that offers flagship-level performance and features at a competitive price point. Here’s an in-depth review based on its specifications and early impressions:

What’s in the Box

The phone comes in a tiny package made of white paper. Only a USB-C cable is included in the bundle. We used to receive a case and charger in prior years, but not this version. As anticipated, the Honor 400 Pro comes with a protective folio already placed by the factory.

Key Specs & Features of the Honor 400 Pro

A year after the Honor 200 Pro, the Honor 400 Pro has a more robust build, a better main and zoom camera, a more potent CPU, and an enhanced display. Naturally, this year’s theme is artificial intelligence (AI), which Honor has advanced with features like Image to Video, Outpainting, Cutout backdrop, Open Eyes, and more.

With speedier hardware, a larger display, improved durability, Wi-Fi 7 compatibility, and a telephoto camera with three times the zoom, the Honor 400 Pro outperforms the Honor 400. However, those added features cost more than €250.

Performance & Software

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the Honor 400 Pro delivers robust performance, achieving an Antutu benchmark score of over 2 million points. It offers configurations with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and ample space for apps and media. The device runs on MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15, promising up to six years of software and security updates.

Display

Equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display featuring a 1.5K resolution (1224 x 2700 pixels), 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 5000 nits, the screen offers vibrant colors and smooth visuals. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, enhancing durability against scratches and drops.

Camera System

On the rear side, the triple-camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens, capable of 3x optical zoom.

A dual front camera setup comprises a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, supporting 4K video recording.

Integrated with Google’s Veo 2 AI, the Honor 400 Pro allows users to animate still photos into short videos, offering a unique and creative way to enhance images.

Battery & Charging

The device houses a 5300mAh silicon-carbon battery, providing long-lasting usage. Supports 100W wired charging, capable of fully charging the battery in approximately 50 minutes, and 80W wireless charging for convenient cable-free power-ups.

Connectivity & Durability

The Honor 400 Pro ensures fast and reliable connectivity with full 5G support.

This gadget is certified with an IP68/IP69 rating, making it resistant to dust and water, which makes it suitable for various environmental conditions. Additionally, it received SCS’s 5-star Premium Performance Certification for Crush and Drop Resistance.

Moreover, the Honor 400 Pro includes stereo speakers, NFC, and an infrared port, enhancing the device’s versatility.

Verdict

The Honor 400 Pro stands out as a compelling option for users seeking flagship-like performance and features without the flagship price tag. Its powerful chipset, impressive camera system, fast charging capabilities, and long-term software support make it a strong contender in the premium midrange segment. While it faces competition from other devices like the Poco F7 Ultra and Nubia Z70 Ultra, the Honor 400 Pro’s balanced offering positions it as a top choice for tech enthusiasts and power users.
