The vivo T4 Ultra is Vivo’s latest mid-range smartphone, officially launched in India on June 11, 2025. It combines flagship-level features with a competitive price, aiming to appeal to tech-savvy consumers seeking premium performance without the premium cost. What qualities does the phone have to justify the ‘Ultra’ tag that vivo is adding to its T4 series? Let’s find out.

Key Features of the vivo T4 Ultra

Processor

The T4 Ultra outperforms its ancestors, like T4x and T4, which are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, respectively. The MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ 4nm chipset, which powers the vivo T4 Ultra, was utilized in the vivo X100s Pro, one of the company’s best phones for 2024, and other devices.

Memory

In the vivo T4 Ultra, the LPDDR5 RAM’s capacity ranges from 8 to 12 GB. It is combined with internal memory reaching up to 512 GB, starting from 256 GB. This device is using UFS 3.1 storage, which is a bit outmoded.

Three variants of the Ultra are offered: 8/256GB, 12/256GB, and 12/512GB. The vapor chamber of the Dimensity 9300+ is 43.62 cm² in size.

Software

FuntouchOS 15 (Android 15) comes pre-installed on the phone, and it will get two OS upgrades and three years of security fixes.

Camera

The T4 Ultra is superior to its other siblings despite lacking X100s-class cameras. Both T4x and T4 have 2MP assist cameras in addition to 50MP main cameras with tiny sensors (and OIS on the T4).

The Ultra has a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary camera bearing a 1/1.56″ sensor which is also used in the X200s. This is behind an OIS-equipped f/1.88 lens.

The 50MP periscope with 3x magnification (f/2.55 lens with OIS) and an IMX882 sensor (1/1.95″) is the main attraction. It has OIS+EIS stabilization for video and a 10x telephoto macro mode.

The third sensor is an 8MP ultra-wide (f/2.2) camera. Lastly, there is an Aura Light on the camera setup of the rear panel.

The device can capture maximum of 4K videos.

The 32MP (f/2.45) selfie camera is provided on the front side of this device.

Display

With a 6.67″ screen, the vivo T4 Ultra comes with the smallest display in the vivo T series. Nevertheless, it is blessed with the greatest panel to date. Here you get a quad-curved OLED display with resolutions of 1260 by 2800 pixels, 460 PPI density, and 1B colours.

T4 Ultra boasts a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It has a maximum local brightness of 5,000 nits and a maximum global brightness of 1,600 nits. The display also supports HDR10+ and bears an SGS Low Blue Light Certification.

What’s more, an optical fingerprint scanner is available for under-display use.

Battery

With a battery capacity of 6,500mAh, the T4x is a step down from the T4’s enormous 7,300mAh. With a capacity of just 5,500 mAh, the Ultra features the lowest battery in the series.

Like the ancestor T4, a 90W fast charging adapter is provided with the T4 Ultra. It can fully recharge the device within 48 minutes.

The vivo T4 Ultra phone offers the ‘Reverse wired’ charging facility. However, it has no wireless charging feature.

Design

Compared to the vivo T4x, featuring 8.1mm thickness and weighing about 204g, the Ultra version offers a thinner (7.43mm) and lighter (192 to 193g) body.

Additionally, the Ultra sports thicker glass on its front and rear sides rather than plastic. Nevertheless, IP64 water and dust protection makes this device mediocre. It can accommodate two Nano-SIMs.

The T4 Ultra is available in two colour options: Meteor Grey and Phoenix Gold.

The price of the vivo T4 Ultra starts from Rs. 37,999 for the basic variant (8/256GB). The upper variants (12/256GB and 12/512GB) cost Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 41,999, respectively. It would be available for sales from June 18, 2025.

Conclusion

The vivo T4 Ultra stands out in the mid-range segment by offering flagship-level features at a competitive price point. Its powerful performance, high-quality display, versatile camera system, and fast charging capabilities make it a strong contender for consumers seeking premium features without the premium price tag. A fairly high-end processor and a telephoto camera (the first telemacro in the market, according to Vivo) are the key selling features for this device. However, potential buyers should consider the lack of expandable storage and the absence of an official IP rating when making their decision.
